Valiant Captain Asfandyar embraces martyrdom in Badaber operation

Captain Asfandyar was leading his troops from the front during the operation.

RAWALPINDI (Web Desk) - Capt Asfandyar embraced martyrdom while fighting valiantly against the terrorists who attacked PAF airbase camp in Badaber area on Friday morning. 

The attack on the Badaber base, 10 kilometres (six miles) south of Peshawar, triggered fierce gunbattles between insurgents and the military in which at least 13 terrorists were killed and 10 soldiers were wounded.

According ISPR, the 27-year-old soldier was leading his troops from the front during the clearance operation. 

Captain Asfandyar Bukhari was wing commander of 48th Jinnah Wing Entry. He had received Sword of Honour in 118th Long Course and was awarded Tactics Medal as well.

Separately, he remained vice captain of his college hockey team and played Punjab under-19 hockey. 

He was chess champion at college, president of the biology club, editor of the college megazine and remained member of the board of editors for five years.
