ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Pakistan has urged India to honour commitment with regard to observance of ceasefire on the Line of Control and Working Boundary.
The response came two days after a Pakistani soldier embraced martyrdom due to “unprovoked” Indian firing Battal Sector of Rawlakot in the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir.
The incident occurred few days after Pakistani border officers met with their Indian counterparts in New Delhi and agreed to avoid skirmishes on the border, which also cause civilian casualties on both sides.
During weekly briefing in Islamabad today (Thursday), Foreign Office spokesman Qazi Khalilullah said that there was disconnect between what we are told by the Indian side and the ground reality.
To a question, he said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly on the 30th of this month, however, there was no report so far about any meeting with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.
The spokesman said Pakistan and Afghanistan are discussing measures to keep the border peaceful.
