Summary Mian Khalil’s referrer backed out by refusing to acknowledge his signatures

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) suffered yet another blow as a referrer of its candidate in UC-258 backed out. No application has been given against the man who allegedly took oath, reported Dunya News.

A few days ago, PTI had alleged that the police forced their candidates to withdraw from the elections, however in front of Returning Officers no such objection was raised causing the nomination papers of PTI’s candidate, Mian Khalil, to be rejected. Mian Khalil’s referrer also backed out by refusing to acknowledge his signatures.

PTI has said that it is reviewing the situation when asked about not filing reservations against pressure of police officer. It is pertinent to mention here that a similar incident involving Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) candidate took place when PTI candidate withdrew his application in Sabzazar Union Council. This is the second blow to PTI’s electoral campaign in Lahore.
