Summary At least 2,472,616 children will be vaccinated
QUETTA (Dunya News) – Preparations to launch a province-wide polio campaign starting on September 14 have been finalised on Friday.
The campaign will continue for as many as four days in different districts including provincial capital.
At least 2,472,616 children will be vaccinated in the drive. At least 6,603 mobiles and 321 transit teams have been formed for the massive drive. As many as 796 centres have been formed for vaccination of children below five years of age.
Health department has termed Pishin, Quetta, Qilla Abdullah, Jaffarabad, Khuzdar, Naseerabad and Musakhel ‘high risk’ in this regard. At least 2,160 police personnel have been appointed for security of teams in Quetta. Superintendents of police (SP), station house officers (SHO) and deputy superintendents of police (DSP) will be supervising the process in different cities.
A special order has been passed that bars every team from leaving for job site without proper security. The administration has decided to utilize Frontier Corps (FC) and army services if needed.
