ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sardar Raza on Thursday has stated that members of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) would not resign, Pakistan Peoples Party should approach Supreme Judicial Council in this matter.
Chairing a meeting over local bodies polls in Sindh and Punjab, Sardar Raza addressed all the reservations of political parties and dismissed the demand of ECP officials resignation, stating to approach Supreme Judicial Council.
CEC said that consent of political parties is essential for holding LB polls.
He told the House that the court has refused to appoint its returning officers therefore, political parties are required to contact court for the deployment of staff during election.
