LAHORE (Dunya News) – The traders are continuously protesting against the imposition of withholding tax in Lahore and Multan while symbolically boycotting banking transactions for the day, Dunya News reported.
The traders threatened to close their bank accounts if the imposition of withholding tax isn’t withdrawn.
In Lahore, the traders blocked the Mall Road and protested outside the Masjid-e-Shuhda. Cursing the new rules by raising hands in prayer, traders also chanted loud slogans against the imposition.
The traders demanded the immediate withdrawal of the withholding tax.
In Multan, the traders protested outside the Ghalla Mandi. The demonstrators were carrying banners and placards containing slogans against the imposition.
