LAHORE (Dunya News) – Election Tribunal’s Justice Kazim Malik on Monday has said that a copy of the NA-122 verdict has been dispatched to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
He said that the delay in the matter was caused due to recording the verdict on the spot to avoid leaks.
He issued a press note in the matter to explain the delay. The note states that the case had sensitive nature. Had the judgment written earlier, it was vulnerable to leaks.
He said that the parties’ counsels were told that the judgment would not be brief. He said that on the day of verdict, the mobile phones of the staff were powered off and court’s room was locked. He said that he had the judgment written in a locked room from morning to evening.
Mistakes were corrected and the verdict was issued, he added.
