He said that it was important to give Chief of Army Staff an extension of three-years.Former president Pervez Musharraf called Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Kayani and congratulated him on the three-year extension in his service tenure. Musharrafs spokesman Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif confirmed the telephonic conversation, and said Musharraf called it the right decision for the continuation of the success in the war against terrorism. Musharraf added that the Pakistan Army, under the command of General Kayani, have launched successful operations against terrorists in Swat, Malakand and South Waziristan.
