Summary Police, law-enforcing agencies foiled terror attempts in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar

ISLAMABAD, LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Thwarting the terror attempts in 4 big cities of the country including Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi and Peshawar on Monday, police and the law-enforcing agencies arrested several terrorists, reported Dunya News.

In a joint operation in Sihala, police, Rangers and intelligences agencies arrested 22 terrorists including 13 Afghans and found weapons, binoculars and bullets in large numbers.

In Lahore, a suspect has been arrested from Chungi Dugaij Underpass Ring Road. According to sources, explosive material has been found with the suspect that could have been used in some terrorist activity. Bomb disposal squad and elite force cars arrived immediately upon receiving the information about explosive material. The suspect has been shifted to an unknown place for further investigation.

Thwarting a major terror activity in Karachi, Rangers and police found 10,000 bullets from a car. Upon receiving the information of a bomb in Nazimabad, police and Rangers surrounded the area. All the exit routes of the area were closed and bomb disposal squad was called. Bomb disposal squad arrived at the scene and found 10,000 bullets after searching the car. Rangers took the bullets into their custody and the car was shifted to police station after giving it into police’s custody. Police officials told that the registration of the car and other details are being obtained.

Terrorist Abdul Waheed aka Abubakar was arrested in Peshawar from Haji Camp by Special Police Unit. A remote controlled bomb was also found with the terrorist that was fixed in a water-cooler. Bomb-Disposal squad neutralized the bomb with water charge. The arrested suspect is reported to be a member of an international terrorist organization. He was also wanted to the law-enforcing agencies in 6 terror attacks martyring 42 officials in FATA and target-killing and kidnapping for ransom cases of a retired director of Intelligence Bureau (IB), deputy director, inspector and a retired DSP. Sources told that the suspect belongs to Orakzai Agency and has been shifted to an unknown place for further investigation.
