ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) -- Electoral Reform Subcommittee has completed 80% of its work after recommending an increase in electoral expenses on Wednesday, reported Dunya News.
Elections are now apparently not a profession of a common man anymore as the new recommendation of Electoral Reform Subcommittee has raised the roof for expenditure in electoral activities in addition to completing work on 28 clauses of electoral law.
The candidate for National Assembly will be able to spend 30 lac instead of 15 lacs whereas candidates for Provincial Assembly will spend up to 20 lac instead of 10 lac, according to the new law. People aspiring for membership of Senate will be able to spend up to 15 lac, states the new law.
The Subcommittee has also recommended establishment for monitoring elections.
