Summary Rashid Godil has been weaned off the ventilator to approximately 60 per cent.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Anjum Rizvi, a spokesman at the Liaquat National Hospital, on Wednesday said that next 24 hours are crucial for MQM MNA Rashid Godil, who was critically injured in yesterday’s gun attack in Karachi.
Talking to media outside the hospital, the spokesperson said that Godil is clinically stable and he has responded to doctors’ signals as well.
He said the patient has been weaned off the ventilator to about 60 per cent, however, his right lung has been badly affected.
On Tuesday, the politician was struck by five bullets to his head, jaw and chest when four attackers on motorcycles opened fire on his car in the eastern Bahadurabad neighbourhood in Karachi.
Police said it was not immediately clear who was behind the attack, which was being investigated.
The investigators are facing difficulty in preparing sketches of the culprits as no eye-witness has recorded statement yet.
