Summary Election Commission has issued the schedule to hold local body election in three stages
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday ordered Sindh and Punjab governments to hold local body elections by themselves, Dunya News reported.
According to details, the Election Commission has issued the schedule to hold local body election in three stages.
Dunya News has obtained the details of phased local government elections in Punjab and Sindh, as per which, the first phase of elections will take place on November 14, 2015, the second on November the 29th while the third one on December 19th.
In the first phase, the elections will take place in Punjab cities of Lodhran, Vehari, Okara, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Toba Tek Singh, Sargodha, Kasur, Nankana Sahid, Gujrat, Attock and Rawalpindi. In Sindh’s phase one, the election will take place in Sukkur, Ghotki, Khairpur, Larkana, Qambar Shahadat Kot, Shikarpur, Jacobabad and Kashmor.
For Punjab’s second phase, the elections will take place in Khanewal, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Chiniot, Khushab, Mianwali, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Chakwal and Jhelum.
The second phase in Sindh will entail elections in Shaheed Benazirabad, Naushahro Feroze, Dadu, Matiari, Jamshoro, Tandu Allahyar, Tandu Muhammad Khan, Thatha, Sajawal, Badin, Umarkot, Tharparkar, Sanghar and Mirpur Khas.
The election in third phase will take place in Punjab cities of Pak Pattan, Layyah, Rajanpur, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Jhang, Bhakkar, Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Rahim Yar Khan and Multan.
For Sindh’s third phase, the election will take place in Karachi and Hyderabad.
