KARACHI (Dunya News) – Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday contacted Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Farooq Sattar and assured him that the government is ready address his party’s reservations.

Earlier, while talking on Dunya News program On The Front with Kamran Shahid, Altaf Hussain stated that the MQM parliamentarians could withdraw their resignations if the government addresses their reservations.

After Hussain’s signal, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Farooq Sattar, assuring him that the government will address their concerns if his party parliamentarians withdraw their resignations but there will be no compromise on ongoing targeted operation in Karachi.

On this, Farooq Sattar said the decision regarding withdrawal of resignations will only be taken by the party chief.

The MQM lawmakers submitted their resignations in protest against Rangers-led operation and allegedly extra-judicial killings of party workers in Karachi.

The resignation decision applied to the party s 24 MPs in the lower house of parliament, its eight senators in the upper house, as well as its 51 members in the Sindh provincial assembly.
