Summary Few irregularities were reported on authorities' part, report states
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Dunya News on Thursday has obtained a copy of inquiry commission’s report that refutes allegations leveled by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) against the ruling party.
The report states that in light of evidences, PTI failed to prove rigging allegations. The authorities responsible held General Elections 2013 in accordance with the rules. Few irregularities were reported on Election Commission of Pakistan s (ECP) part, report states.
It is also stated that the elections could not be declared rigged as no solid proofs were brought to light. However, the report states that PTI s demand for probe was legitimate.
The commission has stated that taking into account the evidences put forth, it could not be said that any specific party planned rigging the elections.
PTI chairman Imran Khan has expressed resentment over not getting the report s copy. He said that the report is nation s asset and not government s. PTI is the most important stakeholder in the matter, he added. PTI senior vice-chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that the party accepts the commission s report. PTI s spokesperson Naeemul Haq said that the party would accept commission s conclusion however, they have not received a copy.
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq said that all political parties of the country demanded establishment of judicial commission. However, he said thorough report of the commission is awaited. JI chief said that the party would clear its stance after detailed report is issued.
Earlier, federal minister Ahsan Iqbal had claimed about PTI s failure in proving allegations before the report was disclosed.
Iqbal tweeted and posted on his facebook page that the commission has issued report regarding the inquiry of alleged rigging in General Elections 2013. He stated that the commission has refuted PTI’s allegations leveled against the ruling party.
He said that country’s economy was hijacked in name of sit-ins and unnecessary protests. He demanded PTI chairman Imran Khan to keep up the spirit of democracy and confess to having mislead the nation and youth.

He urged the need to step forward with fresh resolve after commission’s report has put the matter to rest once for all.
