Summary Blackmailers demanded at least Rs 5 crore extortion money, plea states

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Dunya News on Wednesday has obtained video in Bahria Town blackmailing case and a copy of plea seeking registration of case.

The plea states that blackmailers demanded at least Rs 5 crore extortion money. It also states that name, Arsalan Iftikhar was used to blackmail the Bahria Town authorities. Proofs of the crime have also been attacked along the plea.

Bahria Town chief Malik Riaz registered a case in Lohi Bher Police Station. He had reached there along with his counsel former minister of law and justice Dr Babar Awan. The copy alleges as many as three people, Col (r) Tariq Kamal, Dr Shafiqur Rehman and Khalid Rasheed of blackmailing.

While talking to the media outside police station, Dr Awan said that his client is a peaceloving philanthropist. Trichotomy of power, he said, the government, judiciary and media should act responsible now as first step to eradicate extortion has been taken . Documented proofs of blackmailing have been attached along the plea, he added.

Dr Awan said that his client has faced numerous threats and difficult times throughout his business career.
