Army continues relief and rescue operations in Chitral, Skardu

Summary Army helicopters are continuously conducting flights across Chitral for relief activities

CHITRAL (Dunya News) – Pakistan Army on Wednesday is continuing relief and rescue operations in different flood affected areas.

The army distributed relief goods among affectees in Skardu. Relief items include staple food, tents, quilts and medicines.

Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Pervez Khattak have finally woken up to the devastation in Chitral, Skardu and adjoining areas. The PM and KP CM have separately visited flood affected areas.

The PM took an aerial tour of flood affected areas whereas CM Khattak reviewed ongoing relief activities. A medical team has been dispatched for treatment of the affectees. Another team of engineers will leave for Chitral today.

According to the Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR), army helicopters are continuously conducting flights across Chitral for relief activities. As many as 60 people have been rescued from Boni and Karagh today. MI-17 helicopters are being used for relief and rescue operations.
