LAHORE (Dunya News) – Heavy downpour in the provincial capital has inundated roads and lowlands while most of the feeders tripped killing power supply to different areas.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) authorities have said that rains would continue intermittently for next few days.

At least 45 milliliter (ml) rain has been recorded in several areas including Jail Road within brief period. At least 96ml rain recorded in Shahdra, 92ml in Misri Shah, 87ml in Shahi Qilla, 66ml in Upper Mall areas, 46ml in cantonment, 50ml in Iqbal Town while 56ml in Garden Town, Johar Town, Bhagwanpura and Shalimar.

Shadman, Jail Road, Anarkali, Chuburji, Garhi Shahu, Badami Bagh, Shimla Pahari, Ravi Road and other areas had heavy shower.

Abid Market, Mozang Chungi, Shadman Chowk, Old Anarkali and other lowlands have been flooded within brief time of shower.

However, Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Vice Chairman Chaudhry Shahbaz Ahmed and Commissioner Abdullah Sumbal paid visits to different areas and reviewed the drainage arrangements.

The areas that are facing power loss include Rang Mahal, Gulshan Ravi, Samanabad, Shah Alam, Wasan Pura, Shahdra and others.
