Rawalpindi streets inundated after heavy rain, water level rises in Nullah Lai

Low-lying areas in Rawalpindi have been inundated following heavy rain.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Heavy showers that lashed Rawalpindi since morning resulted in many of the streets in the city being inundated by the rainwater.

Reportedly, low-lying areas have been submerged in rainwater while there is rise in water level in Nullah Lai at Katarian and Gawalmandi.



Water has also entered Holy Family Clinic’s dengue ward, creating immense problems for the patients.

Locals are taking water out of their houses on their own in Dhok Hasu, Fauji Colony and Dhok Matkial areas.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), widespread rain with thundershowers is expected in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, while at scattered places in Sibbi Zhob, Kalat, Naseerabad, Sukkur, Larkana divisions and Gilgit-Baltistan during the next 24 hours.

Scattered heavy falls are also expected in Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Hazara divisions and Kashmir.
