(Web Desk/Dunya News) -- Wajahat S Khan said on Friday that if Director General Military Operations (DGMO) from both sides of border can meet and problem related to fisheries can be discussed then why important issues like water resources and Kashmir being ‘swept under the carpet’, reported Dunya News.

In a joint talk show conducted by Dunya TV and IBN7, various panelists were invited to discuss on the political landscape of South East Asia.

The panelists from Pakistan’s side included Iftikhar Ahmed, Wajahat Khan and Haroon Rasheed while from India, Shahnawaz of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Meem Afzal of Indian National Congress(INC) and JD Bakshi, former General of Indian Army were invited to voice their views.

Haroon Rasheed spoke at the occasion about the dual attitudes of Indian authorities and political apparatus. He said that while authorities in Pakistan are trying their best to curb terrorists and their activities, their Indian counterparts are not willing to do so adding that India must put an end to ‘hegemony’.

He said that peace is crucial for the betterment of situation between the countries. Quoting Quaid-e-Azam, he said that Pakistan should be on terms with India like U.S.A is with Canada.

Representative of ruling party Shahnawaz Hussain of India said that India is undergoing great crisis as far as terrorism is concerned. He said that India itself condemns terrorism.

Refuting any claim of India’s involvement in Balochistsan, he said that Indian intelligence agencies have nothing to do with the matter as all ‘terrorists that are present since Afghan war’. Defending Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said that if Bangladesh has been annexed from Pakistan, then Pakistan was annexed from India.

JD Bukshi, former Indian General also talked about 1971 Bangladesh war where he had a heated argument about the Bangladesh war with Pakistani analyst Iftikhar Ahmed. JD Bukshi blamed Pakistan on the 1971-debacle.

Iftikhar Ahmed also spoke as a part of the panelists from Pakistan. Discussing Kashmir problem, he said that former Indian Prime Ministers had agreed to discuss and resolve the problem by dialogue yet current Indian leaders have refused to recognize the problem and the need to discuss it.

Inquiring the Indian anchor the exact date as to when Indian parliament declared that Kashmir is disputed, he said that Indian PM himself admitted that India was responsible for Pakistan ‘disintegration’.

Afzal Meem of Indian National Congress also touched on Kashmir issue where he said that India is not responsible for Pakistan’s disintegration, rather Pakistan itself is responsible for the result. He said that Bangladesh came into being due to Pakistan s own  attitude .

Wajahat Khan, head of National Security Desk at Dunya News also took on the Indian anchor when he opened with the argument that if high level meetings with Director General Military Operations (DGMO) from both sides of border and fisheries-related problems can be discussed then why are issues like water resources and Kashmir being ‘swept under the carpet’.

Talking about terrorism, Wajahat Khan said that he can guarantee that Pakistan and India are on same page as far as terrorism is concered.
Questioning the Indian panel, Wajahat said that how he can you expect people of Pakistan to understand and reciprocate Indian point of view when Indian fails to recognize that discussions on key points should be conducted
