Summary Strict security measures are in place all over the country

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Final security plan for Youm-e-Ali (RA) has been formulated on Wednesday. In Lahore, mobile service has been shut down on the passage of procession while in Karachi 10,763 policemen have been deployed for security of processions, reported Dunya News.

Strict security measures are in place all over the country for Youm-e-Ali (RA) on Ramazan 21.

In Lahore, processions for Youm-e-Ali will start from 0900 hours from Mubarak Haveli. The place has been declared a red zone. A helicopter will patrol the route while mobile service has been switched off for the duration of the day.

In Karachi, 10763 police personnel have been deployed to cater to the security of 331 Majalis and 178 processions city-wide. Rangers have been deployed at sensitive locations. Snipers have been stationed at high rise buildings.

In Multan, 3280 policemen have been deployed for 12 processions.

In Bawalpur, more than 1300 personnel have been deployed for security purposes.

Pillion riding has been banned for one day in Multan while in Peshawar, it has been banned till July 10.

Afghan refugees have also been barred from entering Peshawar city and cantonment areas.
