NAB submits report of 150 mega corruption scandals in SC
Names of prominent politicians have been included in a report pertaining to mega corruption scandals
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – The National Accountability Bureau has submitted a report of one hundred and fifty mega corruption scandals in the Supreme Court today (Tuesday), Dunya News reported.
The report states that trial against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is ongoing regarding postings in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and misuse of power whereas cases against former president Asif Ali Zardari, PML-Q chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Ishaq Dar are being heard for creating assets exceeding their incomes.
Names of former prime ministers Yosuaf Raza Gilani and Raja Pervez Ashraf have also been included in the report. Gilani is accused of misusing power in the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) while Raja Perveaz Ashraf is facing trial regarding misuse of power in rental power projects.
The report states that trial of former information secretary Hussain Haqqani is underway for issuing illegal licenses of FM radio.
Other prominent names in the mega scandals include ex-Balochistan CM Nawaz Aslam Raisani, former information minister Firdous AShiq Awan, former interior minister Aftab Sherpao, former bureaucrats Abdullah Yousaf, Salman Siddiqui, ex-Ogra chairman Toqeer Sadiq and former chairman of EOBI Zafar Iqbal Gondal.
