Provincial govt responsible for load shedding in KP: Abid Sher Ali
Load shedding will end by 2017, said Abid Sher Ali
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Federal Minister Abid Sher Ali said on Saturday that federal government is not responsible for loadshedding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). He also said that Sindh government is responsible for deaths in Karachi, reported Dunya News.
Talking during a press conference at Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) House Abid Sher Ali said that Federal government is trying to improve transmission lines, grid stations and their affordability.
He said that the national grid will be able to be able to provide 21,000 Megawatt by 2016.
Placing the blame on KP government, Abid Sher Ali said that provincial government is responsible for load shedding. He said that up to 54 crore rupees were put in provincial government’s account yet area was not given for Chakarda grid station.
Abid Sher Ali said that load shedding would end by 2017 while there has been a significant decrease in load shedding for the past 2 years as well. He reassured that load shedding hours would not coincide with Sehar and Iftar timings.
He declared Sindh government to be responsible for deaths in Karachi. Abid Sher Ali said that National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) had sent K-Electric a legal notice for not producing enough electricity.
