Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani has reiterated that all the appointments are being made on the basis of pure merit. He advised that the federal and provincial ministers should visit the entire country to solve the problems of the masses instead of just visiting their home towns and constituencies. Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, was addressing the convention of PPP office bearers and workers from Larkana Division at the Chief Minister House. PM referred to the sacrifices rendered in the cause of democracy and country by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto, PPP office bearers and workers and the people. He said because of these sacrifices the democracy would continue and sustain and the country would not face any danger.Gilani declared that our mission is the same as that was of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto- Roti, Kapra aur Makan, and by implementing this philosophy the workers would be strengthened and inspired.The PM said that the top priority of the government is to alleviate poverty and control the price hike. The Prime Minister said we are practicing the politics of principles.He recalled that the Constitution of 1973 was given by Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. Many leaders vowed in the past to restore the Constitution of 1973, but none of them did it, however we have restored it.Gilani said the objective to hold the convention of the workers of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), is to mobilize and organize the party. He said Benazir Bhutto had wanted to establish the PPP as a more disciplined political entity for which decision was made to organize the convention.
