LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Punjab Assembly on Friday passed a unanimous resolution demanding immediate probe of allegations against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) party leveled by BBC.
The opposition also protested against publishing maps of Saraikistan and Hazara as separate provinces in 8th standard Geography book by the Punjab Textbook Board.
According to details, a resolution demanding probe on allegations against MQM, tabled by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker Mian Aslam Iqbal was passed unanimously after Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) lawmakers endorsed it after a minor amendment.
The passed resolution says that the House is concerned over the allegations and demands investigation of the allegations.
It says that allegations of harbouring terrorist groups and receiving training from Indian intelligence agency RAW have been leveled against MQM prior to this news report as well.
The Punjab Assembly opposition also protested against the publishing of maps of Saraikistan and Hazara as separate provinces in 8th standard Geography book by the Punjab Textbook Board.
The opposition leader also submitted an adjournment motion in this regard in which it was stated that the Punjab Textbook Board has violated constitution by mentioning occupied Kashmir as disputed.
Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah told the House that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has strictly taken the notice of the situation and has summoned an investigation report within 24 hours.
