QUETTA (Dunya News) – At least six to 18-hour long power cuts are being carried out in different parts of Balochistan while locals are facing potable water shortage in several areas due to unannounced load-shedding.
According to the details, the electricity demand of Balochistan is 1,600 Mega watt (MW) in contrast to the supply of less than 700 MW. The huge imbalance has caused an increase in the outage duration in different parts of the province.
The rural areas are facing 16 hours to 18 hours long power cuts, district headquarters up to at least ten hours and in Quetta the outage duration stands at six to eight hours.
On the other hand, adjoining areas of Quetta are facing water shortage due to unscheduled power outages.
