National Assembly passes resolution, extends Army Ordinance Amendment
MQM is opposing the bill to avoid the grip of law, said Khawaja Asif
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Assembly passed resolution on Monday extending Army Ordinance Act. Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) boycotted the session. Khawaja Asif said that MQM is afraid to back the extension in Army Ordinance Act as it fears it ‘black deeds’may be punished, reported Dunya News.
MQM created uproar as the parliament gathered for the extension of Army Ordinance Act.
MQM took the stance that the bill should be tabled in front of parliament as the session was in progress.
Replying to MQM members, Khawaja Asif said that MQM is opposing the bill to avoid the grip of law. He said that only the duration of Army Ordinance Act is being extended.
Taunting MQM’s tactics, Khawaja Asif said that the party has habit of making statements in morning and apologizing in the evening.
MQM staged a walkout after Khawaja Asif’s statement.
Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination Riaz Peerzada went after MQM members however they refused to come back.
Talking to media outside Rasheed Godil said that government wants to run parliament by ‘brute force’ adding that MQM’s party members are being arrested discriminately.
Rasheed Godil said that he is scheduled to meet Speaker Assembly on Tuesday morning where he will talk with Speaker regarding participation in session.
