LAHORE (Dunya News) – Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali said on Monday that uninterrupted electricity will be provided during Sehr and Aftar timings. He said that irregularities had been found on the purchase of land for Diamir Bhasha Dam, reported Dunya News.
Talking during a press conference, Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali said that urban areas are facing 6 while rural areas experiencing 8 hours of load shedding.
He said that 80 percent of the country will not face load shedding during Sehr and Aftar timings barring the 20 percent area where due to technical faults and power theft the schedule may be changed.
Talking about irregularities in hydel power projects, Abid Sher Ali said that former ministers had brought the land on expensive rates in a bid to amass private assets for which a committee has been formed to investigate.
Abid Sher Ali said that due to former government’s bad management, the cost of Neelum Jehlum project had rocketed from 80 billion to 4520 billion rupees while Nandipur power project had gone from 23 billion to 58 billion rupees.
