MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) – Development work could not start in Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) even after 10 years of earthquake which destroyed many cities of AJK, said the protesting residents of Muzaffarabad on Thursday.

The demonstrators marched on foot from Muzaffarabad to Islamabad in order to protest against the negligence of the government about the rehabilitation of the AJK citizens. The residents protested in front of Central Press Club Islamabad. They said that some organizations from China and other countries came to AJK with development projects but they are still not able to complete the projects due to federal government’s non-seriousness.

According to details, the federal government was partner in all the rehabilitation and development projects and it failed to pay 17 billion rupees of its share which became a hurdle in the way of foreign organizations. The demonstrators said that the foreign companies are going back as they do not see any hope of getting the government’s share.
