Summary Annual supply of 45 crore gallon water is closed to the residents of Karachi.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Water board in Karachi has yet not issued schedule of provision of water in various areas on alternate days, Dunya News reported on Monday.
According to details, the system was announced by local bodies minister Sahrjeel Memon a day before but no step has been taken in this regard by the water board.
Water shortage in the metropolitan continues as residents of different areas have no option but to buy water on hiked price.
According to the details, the private tankers owners are selling water on self-set price.
Due to lack of rainfall the water level in Hub dam has decreased resulting in annual reduction of 45 crore gallon water.
Gulistan Johar, New Karachi, FC Area, Baldia Town, Site area, Orangi Town, Landhi, Korangi, Khokhrapar, Malir, Lines Area, Manghopir and several other areas are facing the issue for at least one month.
However, the Water Board tankers are struggling to meet the residents’ requirements as supply of water is being made in public and mosques’ tanks of Baldia, Orangi and Site.
