Summary A woman voter who took stamp with her has also been arrested
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Using the special magistrate authority, Rangers official sentenced a presiding officer to three months imprisonment, voter to six months imprisonment after convicting them of trying to rig election. Rangers also arrested a woman voter who took the stamp with her after casting the vote, Dunya News reported.
Other than that, an Assistant Presiding Officer and two woman polling agents have also been arrested.
According to details, Rangers’ judicial magistrate sentenced Delhi school polling station’s presiding officer Syed Majid Ali to three months imprisonment and PKR 5000 fine over rigging allegations. The same magistrate also sentenced a bogus voter identified as Rehan to six months imprisonment and PKR 5000 fine.
The judicial magistrate appointed local college’s principal Syed Jamal as replacement presiding officer.
The Rangers also arrested Assistant Presiding Officer Javed Siddiqui over allegations of bogus voting. A woman voter took stamp from the polling station number 105 and the Rangers took her and the woman polling agent from that station into custody.
Meanwhile, another woman polling officer Saad Sultana was arrested from polling station number 159 Gharibabad Dispensary.
