Summary ECP has directed provincial election commissioner to take immediate notice

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has directed provincial Election Commissioner to take immediate action after it received complaints of irregularities in NA 246 by-elections from Jamaat Islami and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Dunya News reported.

The polling in NA 246 by-election is underway and the ECP has received complaint from MQM candidate Kanwar Naveed who said that the polling started with delay at PN Grammar School FB area polling station. Election Commission maintained the reason for delayed start is security issues but it has been resolved now.

Meanwhile, Jamaat Islami candidate Rashid Nasim also faxed a complaint to the Election Commission leveling the accusation that MQM workers are roaming around polling stations wearing party badges. The ECP has directed the provincial election commissioner to take immediate notice.
