Summary JI candidate said ECP still following course of the past, biometric system needed for transparency
KARACHI: (Dunya News) – Jamaat Islami (JI) candidate for NA-246 by-election Rashid Naseem has on Tuesday criticized Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) saying that the ECP hasn’t given up its past practices. “ECP had earlier announced to hold these elections under biometric system but later retracted”, he said.
Talking to Dunya News in Karachi, Rashid Naseem said that all parties, including Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), had welcomed the announcement of using biometric system but ECP retracted.
Boasting off his chances for winning the by-election, Rashid Naseem said that Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) and Jumiat Ulema Islam – Fazl (JUI-F) have announced support for JI in the election.
