KARACHI (Dunya News) – A ban has been placed on usage of mobile phone during NA-246 by-elections on Tuesday. Security arrangements have also been finalized for the event, reported Dunya News.

Election campaign for NA-246 by-elections is due to end at midnight on Tuesday.

3,58,500 ballot papers have been printed so far and have been handed over to Returning Officers (ROs).

Ballot papers and associated equipment will be handed over to ROs which will reach polling stations under the supervision of Rangers.

Usage of mobile phones will be banned inside the polling stations. Apart from Presiding Officers, employees and voters will not be allowed to bring mobile phones into the polling stations.

In another development, all polling stations in NA-246 constituency have been termed as sensitive. More than 7000 police personnel will be deployed on the day of by-elections.

According to Director Inspector General (DIG) West Feroz Shah, a response time of 3 minutes is required to react to any emergency situation.

4000 Rangers will also be deployed on April 23.

It should be noted here that Rangers have been given the authority of first-class Magistrate for the duration of by-elections.
