ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chinese president Xi Jinping leaves for China on Tuesday after a historic two-day visit to Pakistan during which agreements worth at least US $45 billion were signed. JF-17 Thunder jets escorted the presidential aircraft out of Pakistani air space.
Delegations of both countries held meetings to sign several agreements for different sectors including energy and infrastructure. The Prime Minister (PM) said that the security of Chinese nationals in Pakistan is the government’s responsibility. The PM approved handover of the security of Chinese nationals to the Security Division of the Pakistan Army.
PM, Chief of army Staff (COAS), Chief of Naval Staff (CNS), air chief Sohail Aman and other dignitaries were present at the Noor Khan Airbase to see off the Xi Jinping and China’s first lady. Federal Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, Minister for Petroleum Khaqan Abbasi, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, Jinping was given a 21-gun-salute on his arrival to the country. He was also presented guard of honour. The President confered Nishan-e-Pakistan on Jinping.
