LHC judge directs Health Department to take precautions against fire-incidents

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) judge Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan on Saturday passed an interim decision on an application filed against the number of casualties in nurseries of hospitals due to fire-related incidents.

The court has directed Punjab Department of Health to take preventive measures province-wide, including training of hospital staff by conducting fire drills and making path for emergency exits in the hospital.

Apex court has issued a 2-page report on the matter.

According to the verdict passed by court, orders have been passed to remove barricades in front of entrance and exits of 97 hospitals province-wide.

The court further ordered concerned authorities to fully comply with court’s ruling and present their written report by May 12.
