Summary JI has refused to withdraw its candidate, Rashid Nassem from the by-election

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Saturday is scheduled to reach Karachi as the NA-246 by-election contesting party is going to demonstrate political power on April 20 (Sunday).

The talks between Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and PTI have failed. PTI aimed at convincing JI to withdraw from the by-election to ensure its win against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). However, JI refused to withdraw its candidate, Rashid Nassem from the election.

PTI will hold a rally on Sunday in Karachi for the by-election to be held on April 23. Earlier, PTI’s rally in the city had drawn large crowds. After which, PTI candidate said that Jinnah Ground had less capacity to accommodate its supporters. He said that the party would prefer another location to hold a rally.
