Summary Rawalpindi accountability court has allowed reopening the case on the request of Chairman NAB

RAWALPINDI: (Dunya News) – Rawalpindi accountability court has on Friday allowed to reopen Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Asif Zardari assets’ case upon the request of Chairman National Accountability Board (NAB) Qamar-uz Zaman, reported Dunya News.

The reference filed by the Chairman NAB in Rawalpindi accountability court maintained that the immunity available to Asif Zardari as president of Pakistan has now been withdrawn and therefore, the cases should be reopened as investigation of this matter is extremely important.

Court, accepting the plea, has issued legal notice to former president. Next hearing of the case will be conducted on 27th of April.

Assets Reference Case was registered against Asif Zardari and his late wife Benazir Bhutto in 2001 but Benazir’s name was removed after her murder in 2007.
