ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – A high level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to discuss Yemen crisis took place in Islamabad on Thursday in which it was declared that Pakistan and Saudi Arabia stand together with each other in tough times.
According to details, the session was attended by the Army Chief General Raheel Sharif, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Rashid Mehmood and chiefs of Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Air Force.
The delegate that visited Saudi Arabia yesterday (Wednesday) also briefed the top leadership about the situation.
As per the declaration issued after the meeting, it was said that the Houthi rebels must disarm and come on the negotiation table.
The parliamentary resolution containing the way of cooperating with Saudi Arabia was also reviewed. The participants expressed satisfaction over government’s resolution to support Saudi Arabia.
The delegate headed by Shahbaz Sharif that visited Saudi Arabia also briefed the session. They told the session that Saudi Arabia have welcomed Pakistan’s stance by heart and that Prime Minister’s policy statement has also been praised.
