Summary PTI leader Jahangir Tareen held a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner in Islamabad.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen on Tuesday said that counting of votes in NA-246 by-election will be completed in presence of Rangers personnel, Dunya News reported.
Talking to media after meeting with Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Raza Khan in Islamabad, the PTI leader said that magisterial powers have been given to Rangers so they can take action if there is any hurdle in the polling process.
Jahangir Tareen conveyed his party’s reservations to the Chief Election Commission ahead of NA-246 by-election in Karachi.
He said the Secretary ECP would soon visit Karachi where he will finalize security matters with Rangers authorities.
Rangers men will be deployed inside and outside the polling stations during polling process, he added.
He further said that Sarza Raza Khan has assured transparent and fair elections in Karachi. Jahangir Tareen demanded a task force should be formed for electronic voting.
On the other hand, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf candidate Imran Ismail lead an election rally at 4:00 pm in Karachi today. The rally participants would march through Karimabad, Liaquatabad, Super Market and FC area.
