LONDON (Web Desk) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain will appear in central London police station as his bail in money laundering case expires today (Tuesday.
“As part of an ongoing investigation into allegations of money laundering, the Founder and Leader of the Muttahida Quami Movement, Mr Altaf Hussain, was bailed to return to a central London Police Station today,” the MQM spokesperson said.
In June 2014, Altaf Hussain was arrested on suspicion of money-laundering during a raid at his residence in northwest London where he has lived in self-imposed exile since the early 1990s.
Addressing his supporters via telephone in Karachi, Hussain stated that one has to face tests during the political struggle. He asked his supporters to pray for him.
On April 1, senior MQM leader Mohammed Anwar was also arrested at his home in north London in connection with the money laundering case. He was released on bail after ten hours of custody.
MQM denies any involvement in money laundering.
