Summary Mehdi Hassan's daughter-in-law moved to court as legendary singer's belongings were stolen
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – Legendary singer Mehdi Hasaan’s belongings and awards were stolen from his home as his daughter-in-law Umaima Arif moved to Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday.
According to the petition filed by Umaima, she had brought all the awards and harmonium of the deceased signer from Karachi to Lahore for getting them placed at a museum and had rented a house on Lytton Road for keeping the entire luggage. However, all the awards and harmonium was stolen on 20th of March. She maintained that she an FIR was registered of this robbery in Lytton Road Police Station but police had not arrested the accused as yet.
Umaima’s lawyer said that the court will be informed about the threats that Umaima had been receiving from those accused. Showing the documents of her deceased father-in-law after filing the petition in the LHC, Umaima’s tears began to shed. She said that all she wanted was justice.
