Summary 11 of those rescued are Indian nationals

KARACHI (Dunya News) – Pakistan Navy’s frigate arrived at Karachi port on Tuesday transporting as many as 183 stranded people from Yemen to safety, Dunya News reported.

According to details, the 183 people evacuated from Yemen by Pakistan Navy comprise 147 Pakistanis and 36 foreigners including 11 Indian citizens.

The relatives of the stranded people waited anxiously at the port to welcome their loved ones. Foreigners also debarked the frigate carrying Pakistani flag and chanting pro-Pakistan slogans like Pakistan Zindabad.

The Pakistan Navy set an example today by rescuing 11 Indians and showing that no rivalry is above the natural human bond of friendship amid crisis.

Emotional scenes were witnessed at the port when those arriving were greeted by their anxious relatives.

Pakistan Navy’s PNS Aslat had left for Yemen from Karachi on March 29 and reached Al-Makla on April 2 and departure for Karachi on April 4 again.

Other than Pakistanis and Indians, there were 8 Chinese nationals, 5 Filipinos, 4 British, 2 Indonesian, 2 Syrians, 1 each from Canada, UAE and Egypt.

Commodore Ilyas acted in his capacity of Mission Commander and the ship was monitored through helicopters as soon as it entered the Pakistani channel.

Meanwhile, another one of Pakistan Navy’s ships Shamshir is due to arrive in Djibouti from Al-Hudaida with 51 stranded people of which 36 are Pakistani and 15 foreigners. It also includes 12 children.

The historic mission of transporting stranded Pakistanis to safety was completed in 10 days. PIA and Pakistan Navy’s carriers won hearts by successfully and safely bringing people back.
