Summary Coming back to assemblies for people of Punjab, says Opposition Leader Mehmood-ur-Rasheed
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – As the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) made its return to the parliament after a break of seven months, its MPAs also came back to the Punjab Assembly on Monday. Opposition Leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmood-ur-Rasheed said that PTI would go back to assemblies for the people of Punjab, reported Dunya News.
Responding to PTI’s return to the parliament, former Law Minister of Punjab Rana Sanaullah said that it has been proven today that only the power of vote could bring change in the country. He said that it was wrong to call this parliament as fake. “It has been proven today that no long march or quick march can bring change in the country. Change can only come through the power of vote”, he said.
Earlier, Rana Sanaullah personally welcomed the PTI members at the entrance of the Punjab Assembly. When PTI members entered the house, government members welcomed them by beating the desks.
Speaking on this occasion, Mehmood-ur-Rasheed said that the house must have missed the PTI members. Acting Speaker Sardar Sher Ali Gorchani responded in affirmative saying that the house certainly missed PTI members. Mehmood-ur-Rasheed said that PTI returned to the house as judicial commission to probe the rigging allegations had been formed.
Afterwards, Punjab Assembly decided to increase the quota of the disabled in the government jobs from 2% to 3%. Bills of Social Security Authority and Lahore Arts Council were also approved on this occasion.
Punjab Assembly was suspended till further order at the end of the session.
