ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena is underway in Islamabad, the Radio Pakistan reported on Monday.
Both the leaders held one on one meeting which was later followed by delegation level talks with special focus on boosting existing bilateral ties.
The leaders are discussing ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in diverse fields besides discussing regional and international issues.
It is expected that both the sides will also sign a number of Memoranda of Understanding and agreements to promote bilateral cooperation in various sectors.
Earlier, the Sri Lankan President was accorded a warm reception at the official reception ceremony on his arrival at the Prime Minister House.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif received the distinguished guest. A contingent of armed forces presented guard of honour to the Sri Lankan President.
