KARACHI (Dunya News) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Kanwar Naveed on Saturday claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) attacked its own camp to create a scene, adding that those arrested are not MQM workers.

Addressing a media conference, Naveed accused PTI of staging attack on its own camp saying that PTI workers also attacked the people by throwing the chairs around.

He said PTI’s First Information Report (FIR) was lodged within five minutes whereas it took MQM five hours to get the case registered.

MQM’s Waseem Akhtar said that PTI leadership is using inappropriate language against MQM chief Altaf Hussain and Muhajirs (an umbrella term for those who migrated from India at the time of partition) which is the root cause of the tensions.

He said MQM has been telling people to keep calm for the past two days, adding that he now fears these efforts might fall apart if alleged provocation is not stopped.
