ANKARA (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif met with Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu on Friday to discuss regional peace, reported Dunya News.

PM Nawaz Sharif met with Turkish PM and deliberated upon issues of mutual interest such as Yemen crisis and peace in Middle East region at length.

Afterwards a joint press conference was conducted by the two PMs in which they expressed desire to work together for peace in Middle East.

Talking to the media, PM Nawaz Sharif said that a joint effort on the part of Pakistan and Turkey is needed for issues of global scale adding that the deteriorating law and order situation in Yemen was deplorable.

PM Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan places great importance on the regional security of Saudi Arabia, stressing that Pakistan would stand by Turkey and Saudi Arabia in their hour of need.

The PM added that Pakistan is proud of its relation with Turkey and will endeavor to strengthen ties with the country.

Addressing the media, Turkish PM Ahmet Davutoglu said that talks had been carried out to find a solution independent of sectarian hostilities, stressing that a mutual solution to the problems of the Muslim Ummah is need of the hour.

PM Ahmet Davutoglu said that the situation in Middle East is affecting both Pakistan and Turkey. He added that the interests of the two countries are mutual and said the feelings are reciprocated by both sides.

The Turkish PM said that he is in contact with Saudi Arabia and Iran regarding the Yemen situation and endorsed a peaceful solution to the matter.

Ahmet Davutoglu welcomed Iran’s progress on reaching nuclear agreement on the occasion.
