4 more fall prey to target killings in Karachi

At least 4 people including an ASI in the fresh incidents of target killing in Karachi. Death teal has reached 12 in the target killing incidents in Karachi during last two days. Armed motorcyclists opened fire on ASI Zahid of Nazim Abad police station due to which he was killed on the spot. Unidentified people killed a member of religious organization in area of Garden. Javed Pathan was killed in another firing incident in Adda Broker Chowk. It is pertinent to note that the victims were associated with religious and political organizations. Police said the killings are part of a conspiracy to spark sectarian unrest in the city. The areas of Lyari, New Karachi and Nazimabad are tensed after a fresh wave of targeted attacks in the city Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik Tuesday hinted at involvement of some foreign elements in the Karachi unrest, saying that an international conspiracy is on against Pakistan. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Sindh has directed strict action against the anti-state organizations and elements unleashing violence and unrest in Karachi, while the police and Rangers have also been asked to act sans discrimination in this regard. It is also decided to form a fact-finding committee comprising Ulema hailing from all religious parties, which would have to iron out measures to stop target killings.
