KARACHI (Dunya News) -- Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Friday handed over 5 Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers to Rangers for 90 days custody while the arrested Amir alias Sar Phata has been handed to police for 14 days remand, Dunya News reported.
Rangers brought the 5 accused persons to court under strict security measures and covered faces while they waited for the proceedings to start.
After an hour the accused persons named Ghulam Nabi alias Billa, Muhammad Riaz, Asif, Tanzil and Shahabuddin alias Malla were presented in court.
The prosecutors told the court that the accused persons belonged to MQM and were taken in custody of Mominabad police station.
They added that the accused were involved in serious crimes and should be handed over to custody of Rangers for 90 days.
Then the crime branch of police presented accused Ishtiaq who had been booked in a murder case. The accused was handcuffed and his feet were chained.
The accussed was bleeding from both hands and the judge took notice of the incident, rebuking the investigative officer and directed him to tend to the accused’s injuries.
Rangers and Police presented Amir alias Sar Phata and Amir Abbasi in court, who had been apprehended from Nine-Zero.
The court gave remand of Amir alias Sar Phata to Rangers for 14 days over his alleged involvement in firing on ‘Sindh Bachao Muhabbat Rally’ while Amir Abbasi has been handed over to custody of police till April 4.
