Summary
Hearing of the cases against the dual office holding of the president is underway in the Lahore High Court on Tuesday. During the hearing, Justice Ijaz Chaudhry remarked that no martial law could have survived, had the politicians not supported the dictators, and added that the politicians themselves called for the martial laws. Petitioners counsel AK Dogar contended that the president of Pakistan could not keep the chairmanship of any political party under the constitution and law, rather he could not even be a member of any party. He cited that in HIna Jilanis case, the court remarked that the judges who supported dictators were equally usurpers.
