KARACHI (Dunya News) – Former president Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday hoped that the formation of judicial commission will end the ‘politics of sit-in’, Dunya News reported.
In a statement, former president said that with the formation of judicial commission, PTI lawmakers will get the chance to play a role in the parliament instead of roads.
Zardari said that parliamentary committee for electoral reforms should speed up its work and present draft of constitutional amendment and legislation to the parliament.
He said that the parliamentary committee should also consult with general public and other stakeholders about the reforms, adding that PPP desires the recommendation of electoral reforms to be mutually agreed upon.
Former president said that the mutual agreement of all parties is crucial to end electoral corruption, adding that the reform steps including constitutional amendment must be taken.
He called for such transparent elections in the future that are true representative of people’s wishes.
